Many new techniques have developed recently to overcome old problems often encountered with endodontics. The use of a microscope with fibre optic illumination allows us the ability to visualise more clearly the smallest of root canals, to help clean and shape the root system more effectively. New designs of instruments made of nickel titanium are used for their flexibility in negotiating the irregular curves commonly found in adult teeth.
